Some people out there in the RuneScape world just want to take things from other players in a sneaky way. This page will have a list of known scams to help you avoid being scammed. If you know about some scams that are not listed, go to the Contact Me page on this website and send it to me!

Doubling your gp: This scam was produced after Free Trade was brought back. Coincidence? I don't think so. Most of these type of scammers are at the Grand Exchange. They will say, "Doubling money" and they will say, "Test me". A test is trading the scammer a low amount of gold pieces then he doubles it then trades it back to you to show you that he can 'supposedly' double money. Then when you give him a high amount like 1M then he will just keep your money and you will know that it is a scam. So how do you avoid it? Simple. Don't give him money to double. Don't even give him money for a test. Just avoid this scam as much as you can.

Glitch in-game gives you gp: Another scam that one of my friends has actually experienced. My friend didn't get scammed; he knew it was a scam at the start. So he went along with it to prove it was a scam. Here is how it works: usually 2 people will come to you saying that at this certain location there is a glitch that gives you a high amount of money. So they lead you to the 'glitch' place that is actually just a place that is away from other players. Then they tell you that in order for the glitch to work, you have to do certain emotes in order then say your password backwards. See? It's a scam already. So you do the emotes, say your password backwards, then you will see that one of the people that brought you to the spot logs out and when he does that he will try to change your password. If he comes back, he will say that he lagged out. So how do you avoid it? You can choose not go with them in the first place, or you can say a fake password backwards to prove the scam wrong since you didn't get the gp in the first place.
