Melee

Equipment - Armour, weapons, and lots of food/potions. A Chaotic rapier or whip is suggested on most things, and a zs, ss, or chaotic maul is suggested when you want to use crush. For armour, use the best armour you can get, either dragon, rune, barrows, or god armour. Proselyte armor is good for whenever you are going to be praying. High Herblore is recommended for extreme potions and super antifire.

Lvl 1-99

Method 1 Lvls 1-15: Cows - I think cows would be best starting out (I would start with chickens so that you don't have to have food. Then when a Combat Level 5 start killing cows and/or goblins). They have good hp for their lvl and drop cowhides almost every kill. Collect the hides for a 150gp profit each kill. Other things you can kill are goblins, men/women (I would not suggest killing men/women when a Combat Level 3-5), or anything low leveled with decent HP.

Method 1 Lvls 15-40: Free2Play - Hill Giants/Pay2Play - Rock Crabs - If you are Free2Play, kill hill giants. If you are Pay2Play, I really suggest killing rock crabs. Rock crabs are lvl 13 and are lovated slightly northeast of the Fremennik Province [north of Seer's Village]. They have very low defence as well as 50HP. If you find that too crowded and if you have completed the Fremennik Trails quest, you can pay one of the people at the Fremennik Province's docks 1k to take you to the Waterbirth Island, where there are loads of rock crabs with few people to bother you.

Method 1 Lvls 40-65: Experiments - For the fasteset exp, I suggest experiments. They have 100HP and extremely low defence. They are found below the gravestone east of Dr. Fenkenstrain's Castle. Just push on it to get in. [Creature of Fenkenstrain quest is required up to the gravestone part].

XP: 40-65k xp/hr GP: 0

Method 2 Lvls 40-60: Rock Crabs - Just continue killing Rock Crabs. They are not quite as good as experiemtns, but you can get pretty hefty experience there.

Method 3 Lvls 40-60: Baby Blue Dragons - Baby blue dragons come in at number 3. They aren't the best for combat xp but they do give great prayer xp. Their bones bury for 30xp each. They are located within the Taverly Dungeon and you'll need a dusty key. To obtain a dusty key, you must make your way through the dungeon up to the chaos dwarves. From there, continue on straight until you find some jails cells. Then kill a JAILOR, pick up the key and unlock the jail cell. Talk to the man inside and you'll obtain a dusty key.

XP: 25-40k xp/hr GP: 0

Method 1 Lvls 60-99: If you want to own monsters, here is a big lat list of them. All of these monsters are great exp/money per hour of drops. You'll need to be at least lvl 80+ combat to do most of these though.

===MONSTER LIST=== [I will give each monster a rating. 1-5 being low/medium exp and 10 being the fastest exp]

  • [10] Zombie Monkeys [w/ salve ammy and pro from melee]
  • [9] Ankou [w/ salve ammy]
  • [9] Dagonnoth
  • [9] Monkey Guards [near prayer alter in Ape Atoll]
  • [8] Armoured Zombies
  • [8] Experiments
  • [8] Bandits
  • [8] Yaks
  • [8] Bloodvelds
  • [8] Giant Spiders
  • [8] Giant Skeletons
  • [7] Trolls [Forums, and near Freminnik Province]
  • [7] Abyssal Demons [only if high lvled]
  • [6] Ogres
  • [6] Greater Demons
  • [6] Fire Giants
  • [5] Lesser Demons
  • [5] Dust Devils
  • [4] Jellies

You may not fully agree with the numbers I have put up, but they're pretty accurate. Those are just some of them. Read on for guides on how to kill the best monsters properly. Most of these monsters will drop valuable items and depending on your lvls, will gain you 40k-70k exp per hour. I recommend potting up, even if it's a normal set instead of a super set or extremes. REMEMBER! If you're 70+ Attack, when training, use a whip or chaotic rapier. When you need to use crush, saradomin swords, saradomin godswords, and chaotic mauls are the best, and zamorak spears are good if you want to train in controlled mode.

Armoured Zombies - To access these, you need to have gotten a ways into the quest "Defender of Varrock." If you've done it, you know where they are. Using a salve amulet [e] is a must if you want good exp on these. Use the prayer altar that is just above the entrance to where the zombies are. Piety is recommended, as is a high prayer level. With a salve amulet [e] and piety, you'll be hitting extraordinarily! 100k+ exp per hour is not out of the question. And one closing note, if your Defence is level 90 or below, bring a bunyip to heal.

XP: 70-100k xp/hr

Monkey Guards - They are located in the Ape Atoll temple, right next to the prayer altar. Using a rapier or whip with prayers is great exp, or using Dharoks being preferred here. You can just stay at 6-10HP with Dharoks and own these things like crazy. BEWARE!! There is a little spider that can poison you! It should be very easy to tell if you get poisoned because your HP turns green, so bring and anti-poison and stay at full focus when using...(it just stops right here).

XP: 60-90k xp/hr

Ankou - These are the second best source of combat exp in the game. They're found on the fourth floor of the Stronghold of Security which is located in the Barbarian Village. You should probably bring guthans to heal yourself as they are fairly aggressive, and remember to quickly get down to ankou, just use the portals instead of trekking through the whole stronghold. Also bring a good deal of super sets and a SALVE AMULET. If you do not have a salve amulet, you will not get good exp here. Along with great exp, they drop good stuff, and you'll be gaining a good amount of money as well as good exp.

XP: 65-95k xp/hr

Dagannoths - Dagannoth are also great exp but they can get a bit crowded. They are located under the Lighthouse north of the Barbarian Outpost. They have extremely low defence and high HP. Put auto-retaliate on to get faster exp. It is suggested to use a cannon and a bunyip for the best experience, and you get some ranged exp as well. Dagannoths drop fairly good seeds so you'll make a good profit off drops as well. You must complete "Horror from the Deep" to access these as well.

XP: 55-85k xp/hr

Monkey Zombies - I was getting many complaints about how people couldn't achieve the 70-100k exp per hour here, so I've moved them down on the list. I assure you though, it still is possible, I just recommend really high prayer [80+] to get those results. So anyways, if you're a higher combat level and prayer level, these probably override all monsters for you. Some players achieve over 100k exp per hour doing these [and that's without familiars]. To get to the monkey zombies teleport to Ape Atoll, go down the stairs next to you. Make your way through the temple with the lvl 169 monkey guards and the prayer altar/ [Make sure you have full prayer and prepared to fight]. There's a trapdoor on the eastern side of the room, go down it and you'll see lvl 129 monkey zombies.

YOU MUST HAVE A SALVE AMULET [e] TO GET GOOD RATES!

This makes you hit insanely hard on them. Also, protect from melee is a must. To recharge it, just go up the stairs to the prayer altar nearby. Monkeys will trap you when you go up the ladder to recharge your prayer, so equip your greegree before you go up the ladder, and you won't be trapped when getting to the prayer altar.

XP: 50-100k xp/hr

Bandits - Here's another great method. Bandits are located in the desert [bandit camp] and you'll need some type of "god" clothing [not guthix though] to get the bandits to auto attack you. These are great if you want to surf the forums or relax a bit, but you'll need full guthans to do these effectively. Also remember, if you don't have full guthans, you can bring noted food down there [and some cash], and sell your food to the general store and buy it back This is a great way to stay down there without banking.

XP: 40-70k xp/hr

Method 2 Lvls ?-99: Slayer - If you're a person who is going after total lvl like me, then this is the best option. Simply do Slayer. You get to kill creatures that give good drops while getting combat and slayer levels. Remember, getting 99 Slayer will get you to 99 Attack, Strength, Defence, HP (now called "Constitution") and Ranged. It is also pretty great cash and unlocks some good monsters like abyssal demons and dark beasts.

Speed - These skills are fairly quick, there are ways to earn over 80k per hour in them if you use super sets and such. The melee combat skills all rank 6 for speed.

Uses - There are unlimited uses with these skills....from boasting rights to being able to slay the hardest demons. I won't name the uses, most of them are known.
